A U.S. Army soldier surprised her daughter after returning from a nine-month mission abroad, and the emotional reunion was captured on video. Eight-year-old Harlem Scott received a gift better than anything she could ask for from Santa.
The second-grade student was on a school field trip when she was chosen to receive a special guest on stage, and indeed, the distinguished visitor was her own mother, who had just returned from an almost year-long mission in the Middle East. “Mom!” she exclaims the moment she sees Ralea Scott in her uniform with a teddy bear in her hands.
As the two embrace and cry, the entire auditorium, filled with children and teachers, applauds and celebrates the very special moment between mother and daughter. According to Nola.com, a news website from New Orleans, USA, Ralea joined the Army shortly after finishing high school in 2013 and worked as an Army mechanic in Jordan and Kuwait.
